White Sox Acquire Some Pitching With An Odd Move

Chicago, IL- The White Sox need some pitching, like badly. Chris Sale is on the DL along with Felipe Paulino and Nate Jones. Charlie Leesman was sent back down to the minors this week. So the White Sox have hit the drawing board, and acquired Hector Noesi.

Acquiring Noesi was an odd move for the White Sox, as he has struggled the last few years in his career. Originally signed by the Yankees in 2004, Hector Noesi was part of the trade that sent Michael Pineda to the Bronx. He was put in the starting rotation in 2012 for the Mariners, where he had stats of a 2-12 record, 5.82 ERA, 5.53 FIP, and WHIP of 1.369. Last year, Noesi spent much of the season at AAA where he was 3-3 with a 5.83 ERA. Earlier this season, he was traded to the Texas Rangers where he had an ERA of 11.81 and a FIP of 2.67. He also had a WHIP of 2.438 in Texas.

The White Sox faced Noesi earlier this year, and he had a poor outing against the team. In that outing on April 20, 2014 Noesi gave up seven hits, seven earned runs, and one walk in one inning pitched.

Hopefully in Chicago he can find his groove, but his career lines don't show any success at the Major League level.
